Counter Strike New Revealed
After weeks of rumors, Valve has finally revealed Counter Strike new. It's a major update to CS:GO which will bring it onto the Source 2 engine.
It also introduces sub-tick server updates and smoke grenades that respond to. It has got a lot of armchair gamers going crazy but it looks like an incredible improvement for the average player.
Smokes
Counter Strike New is getting an overhaul that will completely alter the smoking system used in the game. The changes are being described as responsive smokes and will be a significant game changer. Smokes will now expand to fill spaces naturally and then move around objects on the map. They will also react with the lighting of the games, making them appear more real. In addition to these new features, smokes will be able to interact with game events and will offer new tactical possibilities. For example, bullets will force smoke to briefly make clear sightlines, while hex grenade explosions will disperse smoke obstruction.
Smokes will be more dynamic in the game. In the past, smokes were a fixed form that was limited in how far they could be pushed and how much vision it blocked. The new smokes will fill the space they are placed and hinder a player's vision when they are there. This is a major improvement that will make the game more exciting and provide both teams with the same view.
Smokes also react to light as well as the weapons and the surroundings of the world. cs2 cases will make smoke more realistic and offer players different ways to use it to gain an advantage over their opponents. This is especially useful in the chaotic 5v5 games which are bound to occur on every map.
Smokes are no longer a one-way. This was a major issue in CSGO, as it allowed players to see the position of their opponents from behind the smoke. Twistzz, a popular CS:GO professional, says the new system is a major improvement for competitive CS2 and makes it fairer for both teams.
Other minor changes include adjusting the vertical position of smoke particles to prevent the visibility of edges and updating the smoke overlay visuals to reflect their camera's position. Finally, the expiration of smokes has been updated to be more in line with the visuals of how they fade onto the screen.
Loadouts
The players of CS:GO are able to alter their weapon choices prior to the start of every game. The new loadout system allows players to select the weapons that best fit their style of play and team strategy. The new system also adds new tactical depth to the game, as players must balance firepower and utility.
The CS: GO Update includes a number additional improvements and modifications in addition to the new loadouts. Most important, the purchase menu has been completely revamped. The old buy wheel has been replaced with an adjustable grid that displays all purchase options simultaneously. The grid is filled with five pistols as well as five "mid-tier weapons" such a submachine gun, shotguns and rifles.
The new system will be easy to use, and give players greater control over their weapon selection. It will let them choose the weapons that suit their playstyle and team strategy the best, as well to experiment with various combinations. They can also compare their gear to other players and see how well they stack up.
While many players appreciate the flexibility it offers, some have been critical of it for straying from the core essence of Counter-Strike. They also have raised concerns about how it will affect loadouts specific to maps and agent skins dependent on visibility.
Despite these criticisms the new loadout system will be tested in greater detail in the coming months. It is possible that certain issues could be addressed in future updates, so it is important to keep an eye on the site for more information.
Workshop Tools are included in the update, and can be enabled via the settings menu. This allows community contributors to design weapon finishes and stickers, as and maps. The update will also ban players who violate the VAC rules in matches.
The new CS: GO update is scheduled to launch later in the summer. Players can now look over the full list of features and upgrades by visiting the official CS: GO site.
Sub-Tick Updates
The server updates the world of Counter-Strike in short intervals of time referred to as ticks. The smallest gap between a tick's time and the mouse click of a player can affect the accuracy of a shot, so Valve is working hard to ensure that CS: GO feels responsive and smooth. A new video reveals the biggest improvements to the game, also known as sub tick updates.

Instead of a 64-tick update every millisecond CS:GO can now use sub-ticks or, as Valve calls it, "micro ticks", to communicate with the servers. Each of these tiny intervals of time will be recorded by the client and transmitted to the server, which will send back the updated game state to players. The servers will now know the exact moment when you shot and jumped, swung and other inputs.
While a one-minute video is not enough to fully explain everything the video explains each piece of information sent by a client has an associated time stamp, and that the server will collect all the data from all players in chronological order before sending it back. According to the video, a CS: GO server will be able to send up to twice as much data as a 64-tick servers.
This means that even if the tick rate of the game is increased to 128 Hz, it will still be able to handle your commands immediately. Micro-tick updates also decrease the time it takes to input by making sure that the server reacts to your commands without glitches or delays.
Valve's technical improvements to the game are just the beginning. The company is implementing dynamic smoke and particle systems to improve how smoke interacts with the environment and is also upgrading all of the maps with high-resolution textures, lighting, and models. Source 2 tools and features will be used to update all CS Cosmetics and weapons.
Maps
The upcoming update for Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game, along with a few classics that are being given facelifts. These updates are being tested in limited beta. The first set of maps comprises touchstone and upgrade maps that will see no major changes to gameplay, whereas others have been completely revamped or rebuilt using the new Source 2 tools.
One of them is Overpass was redesigned to make use of the engine's new unified lighting system. The underpass of the map has been flooded with light and makes the area spacious and less crowded. In addition smoke grenades are now able to expand dynamically to fill in spaces and interact with the new light.
Another map that has been revamped is Italy, which has received a significant overhaul in texture, lighting and structure. The new version has a more balanced and natural feel than the previous version, which was heavily CT focused. Fans can anticipate a few more classics, such as Aztec and Militia to be updated in the future.
These maps will not be added to the map pool for competitive play even though they're still playable. The only exception is Train which has been removed from Active Duty and will continue to be played in tournaments. Valve hasn't yet announced if the other maps that were taken will be returned to the pool.
Helsingin Sanomat is the national newspaper of Finland. The newspaper's latest update has been deemed controversial. The newspaper has been open in its criticism of Russia's actions against Ukraine. This map is based on the war-torn Donetsk. The map is called de_voyna, and includes a variety of references to the war.
In the future the developer will soon be releasing a set Source 2 tools for community map makers to use in their own creations. This will include features like improved lighting and character reading, as well a physically-based rendering system which creates realistic materials and textures. It will also make real-world objects, like doors and windows, more simple to implement. The update will be released sometime in the summer.
